Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who was first noticed for her clever lyrics that explored racial and sexual identity with humor that was bold and witty. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was via the trumpet. Additionally, she was given classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. As a student, she majored in journalism and women's studies at college, even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. After graduating, it wasn't until that she switched her focus towards music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also included hit songs with viral appeal, like the body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The track also appeared in Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. A musician and an author were among her accomplishments, she decided to focus on becoming acting in a third project. Alongside early series such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, she scored several breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"At Fina We Trust in June of the year.
